The short version

1. Click Assign Blame to spin the wheel as it is.
2. The pointer on the right side picks the winner and the verdict prints under the wheel.

Using your own names

The box labeled Suspects is a plain text box. Whatever you type in there becomes the wheel.

1. Click inside the Suspects box.
2. Delete what is already there, or just add to it.
3. Type one name per line. Press Enter to start a new line for each name.
4. Click Save & redraw. The wheel rebuilds right away with your names.
5. Spin it.

If you forget to click Save & redraw, the wheel keeps the old names. Typing alone does not change it.

Rules and limits

• Minimum 2 names. Fewer than that and you get a nudge instead of a redraw.
• Maximum 12 names. Paste in more and only the first 12 are used. You will get a note saying so.
• Blank lines are ignored, so you do not need to be tidy.
• Extra spaces at the start or end of a line are trimmed off.
• Long names get shortened on the wheel face only so the text still fits. The full name is what shows in the result under the wheel.
• Duplicates are allowed. Put a name in twice to give it double the odds.

The three buttons in the Suspects panel

• Save & redraw: applies what is in the box and remembers it in this browser.
• Reset to defaults: brings back the original tech scapegoat list and saves that.
• Clear saved: forgets your list, wipes it out of this browser and goes back to the defaults.

Does it remember my list?

Yes. Your names are stored in your own browser, on your own device. Come back later on the same browser and your wheel is still there. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is shared and nobody else can see your list. Two things to know:

• A different browser or a different device starts fresh with the defaults.
• Clearing your browser data or using private browsing wipes the list.

Other things it does

• Light and dark: the button in the top right flips the theme, and it matches whatever you last picked on the main site.
• Random verdicts: the line under the wheel rotates through a few different phrasings, so the same winner does not always read the same way.
• Fair spins: every slice is the same size and the landing spot is random each time. No rigging, no weighting, no favorites.
• Works on your phone: the layout stacks and the wheel scales down.
• The box resizes if you drag its bottom edge, handy for longer lists.

Ideas beyond blame

It is just a random picker with jokes on top. Use it for who runs standup, where lunch is coming from, which chore is next, which game to play tonight or who has to tell the client.

If something looks stuck

• Buttons ignore you mid spin. Wait for the wheel to stop.
• Wheel still showing old names? Click Save & redraw.
• Everything acting odd? Click Clear saved and start over.
